WP5 System Demonstrators

WP5 will gather and analyze the Smart Mobility needs of future autonomous driving vehicles: cars and unmanned aerial vehicles. The OEMs (Audi, Airbus) together with the system-integrators (Bosch, AED) and component developers in WP4 will converge on defining the use cases and the demonstrators leveraging and proving the FDSOI technology as future enabler.
Main activities of WP5 will be to

• Definition of system requirements of the demonstrators and Use Cases
• System Integration of the Demonstrator
• Validation of the Demonstrator

The system integration activity will involve implementation of the FDSOI components developed in WP4, with all necessary supporting hardware and software into the defined demonstrators to evaluate the performances of FDSOI technology in various flavors for autonomous driving vehicles (car or UAV).
The results of system break-down obtained during the demonstrator specification will be used as inputs to define the requirements of the necessary components to be realized in WP4. Similarly, the component requirements will be reflected to the IP platform which will lead the optimal selection of FDSOI technology flavor (28nm, 22nm, 12nm) based on the cost-performance trade-off. The validation done at demonstrator level will be fed back to the substrate pilot-line WP2 and component and IP designers (WP3, WP4) in order to enable the improvement at all levels of FDSOI technology to reach and provide the required reliability levels.
Six demonstrators are targeted:

• Demonstrator 1 - Awaking system
• Demonstrator 2 - High end video processing for automotive application
• Demonstrator 3 - High end video processing for aeronautic application
• Demonstrator 4 - Data fusion processor
• Demonstrator 5 - Microcontroller plug and play board
• Demonstrator 6 - Integrated Radar SoC
